PUBLIC ART

Community Murals

Murals are pieces of art that bring people together, promote the use of community spaces for public art, and celebrate the similarities and histories of our homes. Through the murals we create at MUSE Arts, we are committed to portraying the realities of a community, their dreams and aspirations, as well as opening the floor for important conversations around themes of place, identity, and representation. Our community mural projects allow us to achieve this, while simultaneously adding colour and making our neighbourhoods more vibrant and beautiful!

Art Walk

Through Art Walk, we bring joy, colour, and the magic of play to numerous families and diverse neighbourhoods across the city of Toronto. This project began as a community initiative and a way to share the talents of MUSE Arts’ community artists with the kids in our neighbourhood who had been impacted by the experience of COVID-19, having to distance themselves from families and friends. By bringing a bit of colour to their doorstep, we promoted fun and safe outdoor activities and the right to play as a fundamental pillar for the development of healthy communities. Our sidewalk art installations may be temporary, but the moments of fun and engagement, the smiles of the children who interact with them, and the joy expressed by the community members who enjoy our installations are much more permanent.

This project was created by Paola Gomez and Alex Usquiano/MUSE Arts.
